Coming! Silky Filter "Another Take on the Turtle & Donchian"
We didn't just test whether the filter improves trend results — we tested it against thousands of random alternatives that remove the same number of trades. If cutting any similar number of trades produced the same improvement, the filter wouldn't be doing anything special. The filter's real result consistently beats random trade removal, which means it's identifying genuinely weaker setups — not just trading less often.
The filter reduces trade count and drawdown, but that alone isn't proof it's "working" — removing trades at random would do the same. So we ran a placebo test: thousands of randomized filters that remove the same number of trades as ours, and compared profit factor distributions. The trades it avoids are measurably worse than average. Tested against random chance, not just against 'no filter' — and it still wins.
Futures, foreign currency and options trading contains substantial risk and is not for every investor. An investor could potentially lose all or more than the initial investment. Risk capital is money that can be lost without jeopardizing ones financial security or lifestyle. Only risk capital should be used for trading and only those with sufficient risk capital should consider trading. Past performance is not necessarily indicative of future results. CFTC Rules 4.41 – Hypothetical or Simulated performance results have certain limitations, unlike an actual performance record, simulated results do not represent actual trading, simulated results do not represent actual trading, simulated results do not represent actual trading. Also, since the trades have not been executed, the results may have under-or-over compensated for the impact, if any, of certain market factors, such as lack of liquidity. Simulated trading programs in general are also subject to the fact that they are designed with the benefit of hindsight.
